Expanded, Explained, and Sometimes Extraordinary
Two More New Fan Radio Shows Coming It seems like only a short time ago that we were passing along information about the announcements of two brand new fan-made radio shows, RoneyZone Radio and Star Wars FM. Now, we're doing it again. Two new shows should be premiering in late 2005 or early 2006. The first is Galaxies Watch Radio, a radio show by Justin Omanique (formerly of the apparently cancelled Star Wars Crazy Show project from Josh Kaufmann) that is meant to focus on Star Wars Galaxies, including advertising for shops, talk about current issues, prizes, interviews, and more, including a possibly weekly lottery for Star Wars Galaxies. The projected release date for the first episode is currently "within another three to four months." The second new show is Star Wars Bookiees (not "bookie" like the gambling gents, but "Bookiees" like "Wookiees") from Brandon Harbeke. Similar in premise to Star Wars FM, SWB will be a show focusing on reviews, discussion, and commentary on Star Wars books, rather than films or other materials. At present, the premiere episode is slated for mid-August and will cover the novelization of A New Hope by Alan Dean Foster and The Joiner King by Troy Denning. Brandon hopes to make this series more "listener friendly" for repeat listening by placing all time-sensitive materials (news bytes, etc.) at the end of the show, leaving the less time-sensitive materials (the reviews) at the beginning of the episode (a reversal of the formats of many radio shows, including ChronoRadio and Star Wars en Direct). More on both of these shows as information trickles in to us. |
