The Star Wars Timeline Gold #46 Released (and Other Butler Updates)
(source: The Star Wars Timeline Gold, 08-01-08)

It has only been two months since the release of the previous edition of The Star Wars Timeline Gold, but what a summer it has been. During his summer break from teaching, Nathan P. Butler has updated the SWT-G with a brand new edition, The Star Wars Timeline Gold #46, which now features nearly 1,600 pages of information (1,299 pages in the main document), including a veritable "ton" of new summaries this time around, including some of the most obscure "old school" Star Wars stories around. This is perhaps the best new edition of the SWT-G in a very long time. Be sure to check it out!

While we are on the subject of Butler's projects, we wanted to take a moment to update visitors on a few of Butler's other works.

First, The Butlerniverse released has released eight new episodes this summer, including a six-part retrospective on the "real world" events of the years of the release of each Star Wars film in theaters, a special Independence Day edition (comparing the historical American Declaration of Independence and the Star Wars saga's Declaration of Rebellion), and an interview with Brandon Jones (creator of the GameTrailers.com Star Wars Video Game Retrospective). There are also film commentaries in the works for the Classic Trilogy, but given the immense amount of research going into them, those will take quite a while to complete. No release date has been set. As for future episodes of the series, aside from the commentaries, nothing is set in stone, but episodes based on The Clone Wars and/or The Force Unleashed are being considered.

Second, two new Star Wars fan audio productions are being considered for Rayzur's Edge Audio, but both are probably a long time off, if they are produced at all. The projects being considered include a new, rather odd, podcast and a new, very elaborate episode in the Always in Motion audio drama series.

Third, Butler is hard at work on his new original sci-fi novel, Greater Good. At present, the plan is to take as much time as necessary to complete the novel, which may mean that it will not be completed until after 2009 (though hopefully much sooner than that). The current publishing plan is to release the novel through Lulu.com or CreateSpace in hardback at first. Other fiction projects may be released in the interim.

There are other projects in consideration or in the works, but those are the ones we can discuss thus far. Be sure to keep an eye out here for more as these projects develop.
